Forest Parties
Our parties combine playful exploration with safe, fun and creative outdoor activities in nature.
They are led by Ross, a qualified Forest School Leader and British-trained primary teacher, and Fanni, a British-trained Early Years teacher and co-leader of our Forest School sessions. Together we create a warm, memorable experience for curious kids who love fresh air, creativity and wild play.
Outdoor celebrations with play, discovery and a sprinkle of magic.
What to Expect
Our parties are designed to help children explore, be creative and celebrate in nature – through the seasons, in all weather, and with plenty of hands-on fun!
What the day will look like:
- A warm welcome around the log circle
- A lively group game to kick off the fun
- Then it’s time for a group activity – you choose from the options below.
- After that, there’s plenty of time to explore and enjoy the variety of nature-based activities set up across the site.
- To end the adventure, we’ll gather around the fire to sing happy birthday and, if you bring one, share some delicious cake! *
To make things feel extra special, we decorate the woodland with bunting and – yes – a disco ball, bringing a bit of woodland sparkle to the party!
Who Can Join?
Parties include up to 15 children (siblings joining in are counted within this number). Smaller groups are, of course, very welcome.
Due to the size of our woodland space, we can welcome a maximum of 5 adults.
Choose Your Main Activity
Pick one special focus activity to try together as a group:
- Forest medallion necklaces – use palm drills to create your own woodland medallion to wear and take home.
- Elder charcoal pencil making – make a woodland pencil from elder.
- Nature wand making – craft a magical woodland wand using natural materials and colourful wool. What spells will you cast?
- Wildflower seed bombs – make a seed bomb to take home and scatter, helping wildflowers grow and support local wildlife.
- Natural bird feeders – make a bird feeder using natural materials to feed your feathered friends.
Activities to Explore
During the exploring time, children are free to wander, play and try out a range of activities set up around the site, including:
- Nature crown making – collect leaves and twigs to craft a woodland party crown.
- Nature-inspired clay craft – shape your own clay creations and decorate them with natural treasures from the woodland.
- Den building – create your own hideaway using sticks, leaves and your imagination!
- Mud kitchen fun – mix, squish, and stir up muddy potions and recipes.
- Nature investigation – become a mini explorer and discover the tiny creatures and plants of our woodland.
- Natural face camouflage painting – paint with mud and natural materials to blend into the woodland.
- Building miniature fairy or elf houses – design tiny homes hidden among the trees using natural materials.
- Popcorn making over the campfire – cook your very own popcorn over the fire and watch it pop right before your eyes!
Campfire celebration
To finish the party, we gather around the campfire to sing Happy Birthday.
If you’d like to bring a birthday cake, this is the perfect moment to make it extra magical.*
What else is included
- Drinks for everyone – tea and coffee for adults, and water, squash, or a warm fruit tea (in winter) for the children.
- Plastic-free party bags – every child goes home with a sustainable party bag filled with nature-inspired goodies, so they can continue exploring and enjoying the outdoors.
What to Wear
Children should come dressed for the weather, with sturdy, ideally waterproof footwear (wellies are perfect). Please see our Forest School Guide for more detailed guidance.
It’s very likely that children will get muddy, so please let parents know in advance so they can help their child choose suitable clothing. If a child arrives without appropriate clothing for the conditions, we may need to limit their participation for safety reasons.
Please note
* When a local fire ban is in place, we won’t be able to light the campfire or make popcorn. But don’t worry, we’ll still gather around the log circle to celebrate and sing “Happy Birthday” together.
